Moviprep Information:
MoviPrep (Generic name: peg-3350, sodium sulfate, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sodium ascorbate, and ascorbic acid for oral solution) is the #1 prescribed branded colonoscopy prep used to clean the bowel before colonoscopy, a barium x-ray, or other intestinal procedures in adults 18 years and older. It is an osmotic laxative solution that works by drawing large amounts of water into the colon and results in watery bowel movements. The bowel movements usually begin about 1 hour after taking Moviprep. Clearing stool from the intestines helps your doctor to better examine the intestines during procedures. Moviprep Side Effects:
The most common MoviPrep side effects include abdominal pain, bloating, dizziness, feeling of fullness, malaise, nausea, thirst, and vomiting. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chest pain, dizziness, fainting, no bowel movement within 2 hours after use, urinate disorder, severe stomach pain, seizures, or symptoms of a serious allergic reaction (itching, rash, swelling, trouble breathing), please inform your doctor immediately.
Moviprep Precautions:
It is important for you to drink the additional prescribed amount of clear liquid as directed by your doctor to prevent fluid loss (dehydration).
