Razadyne ER (generic name: Galantamine, also known as Reminyl ER, Reminyl XL) is an extended-release cholinesterase inhibitor used to treat mild to moderate dementia caused by Alzheimer's disease. Razadyne ER works to slow mental deterioration by preventing the breakdown of achetylcoline and butyrylcholine. By helping the brain to maintain higher acH levels, Razadyne helps control symptoms such as loss of memory, understanding and daily living skills.
Razadyne ER side effects are usually mild and temporary. They include nausea, diarrhea, increased frequency of bowel movements, vomiting, loss of appetite and weight loss. See your doctor as soon as possible if you experience any of the serious side effects.
Talk to your doctor before using Razadyne ER if have any of these conditions: a history of stomach ulcers, or heart problems, as Razadyne ER can sometimes cause a slowing of the heart (bradycardia).
