Stalevo (Generic name: Carbidopa/Levodopa/Entacapone) is combination medication for the treatment of Parkinson’s disease (PD). Parkinson’s disease is a chronic disorder of the central nervous system (CNS). The symptoms may include impaired balance, rigidity of the muscles, shaking, slow movements, and tremors. PD is more common in the elderly especially the age of 50 years or older. Stalevo contains three active substances: Carbidopa, Levodopa, and Entacapone. They work together effectively to increase the amount of dopamine in the brain for the relief of Parkinson’s disease symptoms. Take Stalevo exactly as it was prescribed for you.
Stalevo Side Effects:
The most common Stalevo side effects are constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, dry mouth, fatigue, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, stomach pain and etc. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chest pain, confusion, depression, fever, muscle pain, numbness, seizures, vision changes, and serious allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; itching; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.

Do NOT take Stalevo oral if you are allergic to Carbidopa, Levodopa, Entacapone, or to any of the ingredients in Stalevo medication. Before taking Stalevo, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions, especially: blood disorder, depression, glaucoma, heart disease, liver or kidney disease, neuroleptic malignant syndrome (NMS), peptic stomach ulcer, seizures, and skin problems,. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Stalevo drug, especially of blood pressure medications, certain MAO inhibitors (rasagiline, selegiline), other Parkinson’s medications, and etc.
