Anthelios Sunscreen Information

Anthelios Sunscreen (UV Protection) is a prominent over-the-counter topical sunscreen used to protect the skin from the adverse effects of sunlight. It helps deliver very high, broad-spectrum protection against various forms of ultraviolet radiation. These ultraviolet rays include UVB, which typically causes sunburn, and UVA, which causes aging and deep skin damage. This skin product protects against photodermatosis (sun-induced skin conditions), including immediate effects such as sunburn and long-term concerns such as photoaging (wrinkles, dark spots) and, most seriously, skin cancer (basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and malignant melanoma). This topical sunscreen can also be used to protect areas that are already irritated, hyperpigmented, or recovering from dermatologic treatments. This sunscreen product is water-resistant for up to 80 minutes, making it a good choice for swimming activities or sweating.

Anthelios Sunscreen contains a combination of chemical sunscreen filters, such as Avobenzone, Homosalate, Octisalate, Octocrylene, and Oxybenzone, along with many inactive ingredients. This sunscreen primarily works by absorbing high-energy ultraviolet (UV) radiation. The chemical filters interact with ultraviolet photons, converting that energy into a much lower-energy, harmless form (like infrared heat) that is then released from the skin. Additionally, it is fortified with Cell-Ox Shield Technology, which includes antioxidants (such as Cassia Alata Leaf Extract and Vitamin E) that help neutralize free radicals. These free radicals are generated when UV light hits the skin, even with a filter. Therefore, it is apparent that this product's ingredients work together to produce broad-spectrum UV light protection. Furthermore, Avobenzone, a critical UVA filter, is naturally unstable when exposed to UV light. However, Anthelios Sunscreen contains some stabilizers (like Octocrylene and the Cell-Ox Shield system) to ensure the protection doesn't break down quickly while you are in the sun.

Anthelios Sunscreen Side Effects

While sunscreens are generally safe to use, they can cause some side effects. Some mild side effects may include burning, tingling, or flushing upon initial application, and acne eruptions in some predisposed individuals.

However, stop using this skin product and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any serious side effects, including an allergic reaction such as breathing difficulties, body itching, body rash, skin blistering, swelling of the face, mouth, tongue, lips, or throat.

Anthelios Sunscreen Precautions

Do not use this skin product if you are allergic to the active and inactive ingredients in Anthelios Sunscreen or any other sunscreen. Avoid applying this product to damaged, broken, or severely irritated skin, as this can increase the risk of skin irritation and its absorption into your bloodstream. Do not use this skin product on children under 6 months old without first consulting a doctor.

Apply a generous amount of this lotion to your face and exposed skin 15 minutes before sun exposure. Spread it evenly to avoid missed spots. Reapply every 2 hours, and sooner if you're sweating heavily, swimming, or wiping your face. It's best used as the last step in your morning skincare routine, before makeup. For dry skin, applying a moisturizer first often makes it more comfortable. Store at room temperature and keep out of reach of children and pets.
