Arcapta Neohaler Information

Arcapta Neohaler (Indacaterol) is used to treat airflow obstruction in COPD. COPD is a group of lung diseases that block airflow, tighten the muscles around the airway, and make breathing difficult. Emphysema and chronic bronchitis are the most common conditions that makeup COPD. Unfortunately, damage to the lungs from COPD can't be reversed. Symptoms of COPD include shortness of breath, wheezing or a chronic cough. Bronchodilators like Indacaterol work by opening up the airways in the lungs, making it easier to breathe. Onbrez Breezhaler is intended for daily, ongoing use to help manage COPD symptoms. It is not a rescue medication for sudden breathing difficulties. Arcapta Neohaler is for use only in people with COPD and should not be used to treat asthma.

Arcapta Neohaler Side Effects

The most common side effects of Arcapta Neohaler may include cough, headache, dizziness, nausea, and signs of common cold such as runny nose, sore throat, and cough. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Fast heartbeat;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, breathing difficulties, itching or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat;
• Signs of low blood potassium, such as muscle weakness, cramps, and abnormal heart rhythms;
• Worsening symptoms

Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Arcapta Neohaler comes as a capsule to be used with the provided inhaler. Do not use other inhaler devices. Do not swallow the capsules. Hold the Neohaler upright. Tilt the mouthpiece. Remove one capsule from the blister pack just before use. Place it in the capsule chamber at the base of the inhaler. Close the mouthpiece firmly until you hear a click. Hold the Neohaler upright with the mouthpiece pointing up. Press both piercing buttons on the sides of the inhaler at the same time and release them. You should hear a click. Before placing the mouthpiece in your mouth, breathe out fully (but not into the inhaler). Place the mouthpiece between your lips and close your lips tightly around it. Tilt your head slightly back. Breathe in rapidly and deeply through the inhaler. You should hear a whirring sound as the capsule spins. Remove the inhaler from your mouth and hold your breath for at least 5 to 10 seconds, or as long as you comfortably can. Breathe out slowly. After using your dose, open the mouthpiece and remove the empty capsule. Close the mouthpiece and replace the cap. Wipe the mouthpiece with a clean, dry cloth or tissue. Do not wash the inhaler. Throw away the device when your capsules run out. Always use the inhaler device that comes with each new prescription. Arcapta Neohaler is a once-daily medication. You should not stop using this medicine suddenly. Stopping suddenly may make your condition worse. Arcapta Neohaler is a maintenance medicine and should not be used for sudden breathing difficulties. Store Arcapta Neohaler at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
