Arthrotec (Generic name: Diclofenac Misoprostol) is a combination medication of Diclofenac Sodium and Misoprostol used for treating signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis or osteoarthritis in patients at risk for developing ulcers from NSAIDs. Diclofenac belongs to the class of medications known as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories (NSAIDs). It reduces pain and inflammation. Misoprostol helps to protect the stomach from irritation and stomach ulcers that can be caused by diclofenac. Take Arthrotec exactly as it was prescribed for you.
Arthrotec Side Effects:
The most common Arthrotec side effects are diarrhea, gas and heartburn. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as gastrointestinal ulcers, bleeding, liver dysfunction, severe skin reactions, heart attacks and strokes, worsen hypertension or kidney failure, please inform your doctor immediately.
Arthrotec Precautions:
Do NOT take Arthrotec oral if you are allergic to Diclofenac Sodium or Misoprostol or other NSAIDs. Do Not Take Arthrotec if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Before taking Arthrotec, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as stomach ulcers, high blood pressure or heart failure, kidney or liver problems. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Arthrotec drug, especially of: medicines contain aspirin or other NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen).
