Celexa Information
Celexa (Generic name: Citalopram Hydrobromide) is an antidepressant used to treat depression in adults. Celexa is in a class of drugs called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Citalopram works by restoring the balance of natural chemicals (neurotransmitters such as serotonin) in the brain, thereby improving feelings of well-being and energy level. Celexa Side Effects
The most common Celexa side effects are abdominal pain, cold symptoms, dizziness, diarrhea, headache, insomnia, nausea, sweating, vomiting, and etc. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chest pain, confusion, fainting, irregular heartbeat, mood or mental changes, nervousness, vision changes, or symptoms of an allergic reaction (difficult breathing; hives; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.
Celexa Precautions
Do NOT take Celexa oral if you are allergic to Citalopram HBr or any of the ingredients in Celexa medication. Before taking Celexa, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as bipolar disorder, diabetes, heart problems, high or low blood pressure, liver or kidney disease, seizures or epilepsy, suicidal or agitated behaviour, and etc. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Celexa drug, especially of: antipsychotic, MAOs. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Celexa should NOT be used in adults or teenagers.
