Desogen Information
Desogen (Desogestrel/Ethinyl Estradiol) is a birth control pill used for contraception to prevent pregnancy. Desogen is a combination hormonal contraceptive because it contains two female sex hormones (desogestrel and ethinyl estradiol). Combination hormonal contraceptives work in two ways i.e., they inhibit the monthly release of an egg by the ovaries, and they change the mucus produced by the cervix. This slows the movement of the sperm through the mucus and through the uterus (womb). Besides preventing pregnancy, birth control pills may make your periods more regular, decrease blood loss and painful periods, decrease your risk of ovarian cysts, and treat acne.
