Eyestream Eye Wash (Calcium Chloride/Magnesium Chloride/Potassium Chloride/Sodium Chloride) reduces eye irritation by flushing out foreign particles from the eye. Pollen, dust, sawdust, and smoke are foreign particles that can cause eye irritation. Eyestream eye wash is also used for eye irrigation after a minor surgery or diagnostic procedure. The medicine may also neutralize and wash away chemicals that may have splashed into the eyes. Ophthalmic irrigating solutions like Calcium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, and Sodium Chloride soothe and refresh irritated eyes. They also dilute and neutralize chemicals, reducing potential damage to the eyes.
Eyestream Eye Wash Side Effects
The most common side effects of Eyestream Eye Wash may include temporary blurred vision, temporary stinging, and mild irritation. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Persistent redness;
• Severe eye irritation;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, breathing difficulties, itching or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat
Eyestream Eye Wash Precautions
Do not use Eyestream Eye Wash if you are allergic to Calcium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, Sodium Chloride, or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have open wounds on the eyelids, severe eye conditions, think you may be pregnant, plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. It is unlikely that Eyestream Eye Wash will interact with other medications. Do not use Eyestream Eye Wash if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. The drug is not expected to harm an unborn baby. Do not use Eyestream Eye Wash while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. It is unlikely that this medicine will pass into breast milk or harm a nursing infant.
This medicine is considered safe for use in children. Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Eyestream Eye Wash comes as a solution. Please do not take it by mouth. Wash your hands thoroughly before using Eyestream Eye Wash. Tilt your head slightly to the back and look upwards. Gently squeeze the bottle to release a steady solution stream over the affected eye. Allow the solution to flow across the surface of your eye from the inner corner towards the outer corner. Blink gently several times to distribute the solution evenly. Repeat the flushing process to remove the irritant or as your doctor directs. Use a soft, clean cloth to pat your face dry gently. Discard the used solution. Do not reuse. Avoid touching the tip of the bottle to any surface, including your fingers or the eye itself. Do not use the same bottle for both eyes. If using Eyestream eye wash for chemical splashes, flush the eye for at least 15-20 minutes or as directed by the chemical safety data sheet. Consult your doctor if irritation persists or you experience other eye problems. Do not use this medication as a saline solution for rinsing and soaking soft contact lenses. Store Eyestream Eye Wash at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
