Flarex Opth (Fluormetholone acetate ophthalmic suspension) belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids. This medication is used for treating certain types of eye injuries or eye conditions due to inflammation. Flarex opth relieves symptoms such as swelling, redness and itching. While using this medication, do not use contact lenses. Place one eye drop in each one of your eyes then look downwards and gently close your eyes for 1 to 2 minutes. Apply as often as directed by your doctor and do not overuse this medication as it can increase your risk of side effects.
Before using this medication tell your doctor if you are allergic to this medication, or if you have any allergies. This medication may contain certain types of ingredients that can cause allergic reactions. Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have a medical history of eye infections, recent eye surgery, cataracts, glaucoma, severe nearsightedness or diabetes. Burning or stinging and blurred vision may occur for 1 to 2 minutes after you apply these eye drops. Some side effects such as eye pain or eye redness may also occur, if these side effects occur inform your doctor right away.
