Iheezo Information
Iheezo (Chloroprocaine Ophthalmic Gel 3%) is used to numb the eyes before an ophthalmic procedure. Numbing the eyes before a procedure prevents you from feeling pain during an eye operation or exam. Local anesthetic agents like Chloroprocaine Ophthalmic Gel 3% work by providing fast-acting pain relief.
Iheezo Side Effects
The most common side effects of Iheezo may include dilated pupils and eye discomfort. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Severe eye redness;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, breathing difficulties, itching or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat;
• Vision changes
Iheezo Precautions
Do not use Iheezo if you are allergic to Chloroprocaine Ophthalmic Gel 3% or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Iheezo and other medications. Do not use Iheezo if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. It is not known whether Chloroprocaine Ophthalmic Gel 3% will harm an unborn baby. Discuss the benefits and risks of using this drug in pregnancy with your doctor. Do not use Iheezo while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. It is unknown if Chloroprocaine Ophthalmic Gel 3% passes into breast milk or if it may harm a nursing infant. Do not give this drug to children without talking to your doctor.
Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Iheezo comes as a gel. Your doctor will administer this medication in a medical setting. Iheezo is applied to the skin in the eye area before the procedure and may be reapplied as needed. Do not touch your eye for at least 10 to 20 minutes until the numbness caused by this medicine has worn off completely. This medication can cause numbness. Use caution to avoid injury before the feeling has returned completely. Store Iheezo at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
