Livalo Information
Livalo (Generic name: Pitavastatin) is a NEW cholesterol-lowering medication used to treat high cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Pitavastatin belongs to the statin class of drugs. It is used to reduce the amount of “bad” cholesterol (LDL) and raise “good” cholesterol (HDL) in the body. Lowering the cholesterol will reduce the risks of heart disease and prevent strokes. Livalo, together with a proper diet and lifestyle changes will help you reach the healthier cholesterol levels. Take Livalo exactly as it was prescribed for you.
Livalo Side Effects
The most common Livalo side effects are back pain, constipation, diarrhea, headache, and weakness. If you experience any severe side effects including fever, jaundice, muscle pain, or symptoms of a serious allergic reactions (e.g., difficult breathing; itching; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.
Livalo Precautions
Do NOT take Livalo oral if you are allergic to Pitavastatin or any of the ingredients in Livalo medication. Before taking Livalo drug, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions, especially of: alcohol use, liver or kidney disease. Tell your doctor about all the prescriptions or over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Livalo drug, especially of: cyclosporine, HIV medications, other statins, and warfarin.
