Midamor Information
Midamor (Amiloride) is a prescription medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and heart failure in people with low amounts of potassium or for whom low potassium levels in the body could be dangerous. The active ingredient in Midamor is Amiloride. Diuretics such as Midamor work by causing the kidneys to get rid of excess water and salt from the body and into the urine, but they also reduce potassium loss. Treating hypertension with Midamor prevents further kidney damage, stroke, and sudden death. Amiloride may be used for other conditions not mentioned in this guide.
