Mucinex Information
Mucinex (Guaifenesin) is an over-the-counter medication that relieves chest congestion and cough caused by the common cold, bronchitis, and other respiratory illnesses. The active ingredient in Mucinex is Guaifenesin. Expectorants such as Guaifenesin stimulate secretions in the respiratory tract, increasing the volume and reducing the viscosity of mucus in the trachea and bronchi. Mucinex loosens mucus in the airways through this mechanism, clearing congestion and improving respiration. It would be best to know that Mucinex cold, flu, and sore throat medication does not work against chronic breathing problems such as lung cancer, asthma, or chronic emphysema.
Mucinex Side Effects
Mucinex's most common side effects may include nausea, vomiting, headache, stomach pain, and dizziness. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Severe headache that doesn't go away;
• Severe sore throat;
• Severe stomach ache;
• Severe dizziness or anxiety;
• Worsening of your cough

Do not crush or chew the tablets. You may feel relieved of your symptoms a few hours after taking the medication.
