If this happens, rinse with plenty of water immediately. Use a nail file or clippers to remove any loose nail. Apply Penlac Solution to your affected nail once daily using the applicator brush. Apply the nail lacquer evenly over the nail and allow it to dry for 30 seconds before putting on socks. Wait at least 8 hours after applying the medicine before taking a bath. Use this medicine daily. Apply the lacquer over the previous coat. Remove the nail lacquer once a week using rubbing alcohol. It may take several months before you notice an improvement in your symptoms. Remove as much of the damaged nail as possible with a nail file or clippers. You may need up to 48 weeks of daily nail lacquer application, weekly nail trimming, and monthly removal of the unattached, infected nail by your doctor for complete treatment.
