Plendil (Felodipine) is used to treat high blood pressure in adults. If left untreated, high blood pressure can damage organs like the brain, heart, kidneys, and blood vessels. There may be a drug interaction between Plendil and other medicines like ketoconazole; erythromycin; ibuprofen; Do not use Plendil if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. This medication may harm your unborn baby. Do not use Plendil while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. It is not known if Felodipine passes into your breast milk. Do not give this drug to children less than 18 years old. It may harm them.
Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Do not stop or change the dose of this medicine without talking to your doctor. You may take the drug with or without food, but take it the same way each time. Swallow the tablet whole, and do not crush, break, or dissolve it. Keep using this medicine even if you feel well. High blood pressure often has no symptoms. Do not stop the drug without talking to your doctor. This drug can cause mild swelling of your gums. Brush and floss your teeth and massage your gums while using this medication. Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice when taking Felodipine. Plendil may make you dizzy. Avoid getting up too fast from a sitting or lying position. Do not drive or carry out hazardous activities till you know how this drug affects you. Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children. Store Plendil at room temperature, away from light and moisture.
