Qvar Autohaler Information

QVAR Autohaler (Beclomethasone Dipropionate) is used to control asthma. Asthma is a chronic lung disease that causes inflammation in the airways, making breathing difficult. It can affect people of all ages. Symptoms of asthma include coughing, wheezing, exhaustion, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. Common triggers of the condition include exercise, allergens, and changes in weather. Qvar Autohaler is a preventer medicine. It will not treat an asthma attack that has already begun. Corticosteroids like Beclomethasone Dipropionate reduce inflammation in the airways, making breathing easier and reducing the frequency and severity of asthma symptoms.

Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. QVAR Autohaler comes as a breath-actuated inhaler. It releases medication when you inhale. If you are using the inhaler for the first time or have not been used for at least 2 weeks, you may need to prime the device. Do not shake the inhaler. To use this medicine, hold the Autohaler upright. Breathe out fully, away from the inhaler. Place the mouthpiece in your mouth and close your lips tightly around it. Tilt your head slightly back. Breathe deeply and steadily through the inhaler. The Autohaler will automatically release a dose of medication as you inhale. Continue to breathe in deeply. Remove the inhaler from your mouth and hold your breath for about 10 seconds or as long as you comfortably can. Breathe out slowly. If your doctor has prescribed more than one inhalation, wait 30 seconds to 1 minute between puffs and repeat the steps. Replace the cap securely. Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out to help prevent oral thrush. Keep the inhaler clean and dry. Wipe the mouthpiece regularly with a clean, dry cloth. Do not wash or put any part of the inhaler in water. Do not use the Qvar Autohaler with a spacer or volume holding chamber. Qvar Autohaler helps control asthma symptoms. Keep using your medicine as your doctor prescribes, even if you feel better. Store QVAR Autohaler at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
