Qvar Redihaler Information

Qvar Redihaler (Beclomethasone Dipropionate) is used to control and prevent asthma in people who are at least 4 years old. Qvar Redihaler will not treat an asthma attack that has already begun. Asthma is a chronic lung disease that causes inflammation in the airways, making breathing difficult. It can affect people of all ages. Symptoms of asthma include coughing, wheezing, exhaustion, shortness of breath, and chest tightness. Common triggers of the condition include exercise, allergens, and changes in weather. Corticosteroids like Beclomethasone Dipropionate reduce inflammation in the airways, making breathing easier and reducing the frequency and severity of asthma symptoms.

Qvar Redihaler Precautions

Do not use QVAR Redihaler if you are allergic to Beclomethasone Dipropionate or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have a fungal, viral, or bacterial infection, tuberculosis, herpes infection of the eye, a weak immune system, glaucoma, osteoporosis, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between QVAR Redihaler and other medications, such as ketoconazole, clarithromycin, vaccines, other inhaled medications, etc. Do not use QVAR Redihaler if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. It is unknown if this medicine will harm an unborn baby. However, uncontrolled asthma in pregnancy can cause significant adverse effects on mother and child, such as preeclampsia, preterm birth, and low birth weight. Discuss the benefits and risks of using this drug in pregnancy with your doctor. Do not use QVAR Redihaler while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. Beclomethasone Dipropionate passes into breast milk in trace amounts but is not expected to harm a nursing infant. The safety and effectiveness of QVAR Redihaler in children younger than 4 years old have not been established.

Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. QVAR Redihaler comes as an inhaler. This medicine is to be inhaled. Do not spray it on your face or eyes. If this medicine accidentally gets into your eyes, rinse your eyes with water and seek medical attention. Before using the inhaler, remove it from its pouch and prime it. Do not shake the inhaler. Place the mouthpiece in your mouth and close your lips around it. Breathe deeply and steadily through your mouth. The medication will be released automatically as you inhale. Remove the inhaler from your mouth and hold your breath for about 10 seconds or as long as possible. Breathe out slowly. If your doctor has prescribed more than one inhalation, wait 30 seconds to 1 minute between puffs and repeat the steps. Replace the cap of the Redihaledr securely. Rinse your mouth with water and spit it out to help prevent oral thrush. Keep the inhaler clean and dry. Never wash or put any part of the inhaler in water. Monitor the dose counter and refill your prescription before it reaches zero. Qvar RediHaler is a maintenance inhaler, not a rescue inhaler. It won't provide immediate relief during an asthma attack. Always have a separate rescue inhaler on hand. Qvar RediHaler is used daily to prevent symptoms. It may take several weeks to see the full benefits of use. Do not stop using this medicine without talking to your doctor. Tell your doctor if you do not see any improvement or if your symptoms worsen. Do not use a spacer or other chamber device with Qvar Redihaler. Store QVAR Redihaler at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
