Restasis Information
Restasis (Generic name: Cyclosporine Ophthalmic Emulsion) is the only prescription therapy used to increase tear production in people with chronic dry eye disease. Cyclosporine is a topical immunomodulator with anti-inflammatory effects. It works by increasing the amount of tears you make. Use Restasis eye drops exactly as it was prescribed for you.
Restasis Side Effects
The most common Restasis side effects are blurred vision, discharge, eye pain, eye redness, itching, sensation of burning, stinging, watery eyes, and etc. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as vision changes, or symptoms of an allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing; itching; rash; swelling), please inform your doctor immediately.
Restasis Precautions
Do NOT use Restasis drops if you are allergic to Cyclosporine or any of the ingredients in Restasis. Before use Restasis Ophthalmic, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions, especially of: active eye infections or a history of herpes viral infections of the eye. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Restasis Cyclosporine, especially of: other eye drops or eye medical products.
