Seysara Information

Seysara (Sarecycline Hydrochloride) is a prescription medicine for moderate to severe acne vulgaris in people nine years and older. The active ingredient in Seysara is Sarecycline Hydrochloride. The tetracycline class of antibiotics, such as Sarecycline Hydrochloride, works by slowing or stopping the growth of bacteria causing the acne. Seysara does not work for viral infections and should not be used without speaking to a doctor or pharmacist.

Seysara Side Effects

The most common side effects of Seysara may include nausea, vomiting, abnormal vaginal discharge, or vaginal candidiasis.

Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Painful swallowing;
• Severe headache due to increased pressure within the brain;
• Worsening diarrhea;
• Worsening of your acne

Seysara Precautions

Do not use Seysara if you are allergic to Quinapril, HCTZ, or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have an allergy reaction to tetracycline medicine, liver problem, kidney diseases, ongoing diarrhea, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Seysara and other medications, such as acitretin, retinoid, antacids containing aluminum, calcium, magnesium, bismuth subsalicylate, and iron-containing medicine (iron sulfate). Do not take Seysara within 36 hours before or after taking a medicine containing sacubitril. Do not use Seysara if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. Like other tetracyclines, Seysara can cause fetal harm when taken by a pregnant woman. This may cause permanent tooth discoloration in the baby if used during pregnancy. Use effective birth control to prevent pregnancy when using this medication. Do not use Seysara while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. This medication passes into breast milk and may harm a nursing infant. Do not give this drug to children younger than nine years old.

Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Seysara is a tablet that should be taken orally with or without food. It is usually taken once daily. However, three times daily dosage is available based on the patient's weight. Follow your prescription label carefully and inform your doctor if there is anything you do not understand. Limit your exposure to the sun. It would be best to discuss with your doctor if there is no improvement in your condition. Do not use this medicine for over three months (12 weeks). Follow your prescription carefully. You should store this medication at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep it out of the reach of children.
