Sulcrate Information

Sulcrate (Sucralfate) is used to treat duodenal and stomach ulcers. The drug is also used to prevent duodenal ulcers. A duodenal ulcer is a sore in the lining of the duodenum, the first part of the small intestine. Stomach ulcers, also known as gastric ulcers, are open sores that occur in the stomach lining. Gastroduodenal cytoprotective agents like Sucralfate form a coating over the ulcer, protecting it from stomach acid and allowing it to heal.
