Tenoretic Information
Tenoretic (Atenolol/Chlorthalidone) is used to treat hypertension (high blood pressure). Hypertension is when the blood pressure in your blood vessels is too high. People with high blood pressure may not feel any symptoms. The only way to know is to get your blood pressure checked. Tenoretic is a combination medicine of Atenolol and Chlorthalidone. Beta-blockers like Atenolol blocks the action of natural chemicals like epinephrine on the heart and blood vessels to lower heart rate and blood pressure. Diuretics like Chlorthalidone help the body get rid of excess salt and water. It also helps to relax the blood vessels so blood can flow more easily. Tenoretic is used when only one medicine is not controlling your blood pressure.
