Tetralysal Information

Tetralysal (Lymecycline) is used to treat acne. Acne appears as black and whiteheads, which people often call pimples or spots. The drug may also be used to treat bacterial infections such as chest and sinus infections, sexually transmitted infections, and infections in or around the mouth. Tetracycline antibiotics like Lymecycline work by attacking the bacteria that cause acne.

Tetralysal Side Effects

The most common side effects of Tetralysal may include headache, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Blistering of large skin areas;
• Severe or persistent headaches;
• Signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, breathing difficulties, itching or swelling of the face, tongue, or throat;
• Ulcerations on the lips, mouth, or genitals

Tetralysal Precautions

Do not use Tetralysal if you are allergic to Lymecycline or other ingredients in this medication. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have kidney disease, liver failure, lupus, myasthenia gravis, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding, or are planning to breastfeed. Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Tetralysal and other medications, such as warfarin, diuretics, quinapril, drugs containing calcium, magnesium, or aluminum, oral retinoids, methoxyflurane, etc. Do not use Tetralysal if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. Lymecycline may affect the proper growth of developing teeth and lead to permanent discolouration in an unborn baby. Discuss the benefits and risks of using this drug in pregnancy with your doctor. Do not use Tetralysal while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. Lymecycline passes into breast milk and may harm a nursing infant. Do not give this drug to children below 12 years without talking to your doctor.

Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Tetralysal comes in capsules. Take this drug by mouth. Swallow the capsules whole. Do not open or chew the capsules. Your dosage will depend on the condition you're treating. Take this drug at the same time each day to help you remember. Take this medicine with adequate amounts of water to avoid irritation or ulceration of the esophagus. Your dosage and treatment period will depend on how quickly your condition improves. Continue taking this medicine until you complete the full course prescribed. Tetralysal may increase your sensitivity to sunlight. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Store Tetralysal at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep all medicines out of reach of children.
