Toviaz (Generic name: Fesoterodine Fumarate extended-release tablet) is used to treat overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms of urinary frequency, incontinence, and urgency. Fesoterodine Fumarate is an antimuscarinic agent and works by blocking a chemical that causes contractions of the bladder. Take Toviaz exactly as it was prescribed for you. Brand Toviaz is manufactured by Pfizer in Turkey or United Kingdom. It comes in 2 strengths: 4 mg and 8 mg.
Toviaz Side Effects:
The most common Toviaz side effects are back pain, blurred vision, constipation, dry mouth, insomnia, or stomach upset. If you are experiencing any severe side effects such as chest pain, difficult or painful urination, fainting, fast heartbeat, swelling of your hands or feet, and serious allergic reaction (e.g., difficult breathing, hives, rash, swelling of the face, lips, throat or tongue), please inform your doctor immediately.
Toviaz Precautions:
Do not take Toviaz if you are allergic to Fesoterodine Fumarate or tolterodine (Detrol), or if you have certain stomach problems, glaucoma, or if you cannot empty your bladder. Before taking this medication, tell your doctor if you have had any medical conditions such as glaucoma, intestinal or stomach problems, kidney or liver problems, myasthenia gravis, severe constipation, urination problems etc. This medication may cause blurred vision or impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be alert and able to see clearly. Tell your doctor about all the prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) medications you use. They may interact with Toviaz drug. Especially: antibiotics or antifungal medicines. Consult with your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
