Tribenzor Information

Tribenzor (Olmesartan Medoxomil/Amlodipine/Hydrochlorothiazide) is a combination prescription medication used to treat hypertension and help lower high blood pressure in people who have tried other antihypertensives. The active ingredients in Tribenzor are Olmesartan Medoxomil, Amlodipine, and Hydrochlorothiazide. Tribenzor has a specific medical agent designed to block angiotensin II, a natural chemical in your body that can raise blood pressure by causing blood vessels to tighten and narrow. By blocking this chemical, Tribenzor widens and relaxes blood vessels to help lower blood pressure. Amlodipine works directly on the specific muscles that tighten and narrow blood vessels to relax and dilate vessels even more. Hydrochlorothiazide reduces water content since retaining too much water can raise blood pressure. Treating high blood pressure reduces the risk of liver problems, kidney disease, and sudden cardiac death.

Tribenzor Side Effects

The most common side effects of Tribenzor may include headache, nausea, vomiting, peripheral edema, and nasopharyngitis. Call your doctor right away if you have any of the serious side effects, such as:
• Reduction in urinary output;
• Swelling in your feet, ankles, or hands, or have unexplained weight gain;
• Swollen face and lips (angioedema);
• Worsening chest pain or heart attack

Tribenzor Precautions

Do not use Tribenzor if you are allergic to it or other ingredients in this medication. Tribenzor should only be used after other antihypertensive medications have been used with no improvement in blood pressure readings. Before you start using this medication, tell your doctor about your medical history, including if you have Angioedema, Kidney problems, Liver disease, Dehydration, Skin cancer, Untreated mineral imbalances, Gout, Diabetes, Lupus, Urination problems, think you may be pregnant, or plan to become pregnant, or breastfeeding a baby. Tell your doctor about all your medications, including prescription, OTC, herbal supplements, and vitamins. There may be a drug interaction between Tribenzor and other medications, such as aliskiren, dantrolene, and sparsentan. Hypertension in pregnancy increases the maternal risk for pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes, and premature delivery and may lead to delivery via cesarean section. Do not use Tribenzor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant without informing your doctor. This drug may harm an unborn baby, especially if used during the second or third trimester. Tribenzor acts on the renin-angiotensin system during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, reduces fetal renal function, and increases fetal death. It is advisable to use effective birth control to prevent pregnancy when using this medication. You should stop using Tribenzor immediately after pregnancy is detected. Do not use Tribenzor while breastfeeding without talking to your doctor. This medication passes into breast milk and may harm a nursing infant.

Use your medicine exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Tribenzor tablets should be taken orally, with or without food, usually once daily. It is often recommended to take this medication early in the morning. Follow your prescription label carefully, as an overdose may result in a drastic drop in your blood pressure. Get up slowly from a sitting or lying position to reduce the risk of dizziness. You may experience dehydration when using the drug. Drink plenty of fluids to prevent dehydration. Tribenzor may increase your skin sensitivity. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothing outdoors to reduce your risk of sunburn. Your doctor may prescribe Tribenzor as part of a comprehensive treatment that includes lifestyle changes like exercising, losing weight, eating a low-fat diet, controlling your blood sugar, and stopping smoking. You should keep a daily chart of your blood pressure readings and do not miss your clinic appointment. Inform your doctor if any side effect bothers you or does not go away. Store this medication at room temperature, away from moisture and heat. Keep it out of the reach of children.
