Vastarel Information

Vastarel (Trimetazidine) is a prescription medication used in adult patients for treatment of angina pectoris (chest pain caused by coronary heart disease) who are intolerant to first-line anti-anginal therapy. Vastarel MR tablet is used for severe chest pain, ringing in the ears, inner ear problems and other conditions. Trimetazidine belongs to the class of medications called anti-ischemics. It works by protecting the heart cells from the effects of reduced oxygen supply during an episode of angina.

Vastarel Side Effects

Common side effects of Vastarel include:
• Constipation;
• Dizziness;
• Headache;
• Weakness

Contact your physician immediately if any of these adverse effects occur:
• Blue or purple appearance of your skin;
• Confusion;
• Fever;
• Little or no urinating;
• Loss of appetite;
• Pain in your side or lower back;
• Pale or yellowed skin;
• Nausea and vomiting;
• Rapid weight gain;
• Swelling

Vastarel Precautions

Do not use this Vastarel if you are allergic to it or any of the ingredients in this medication. You must inform your doctor of your medical history and about the other medicines you take. Tell your doctor about all prescriptions, over the counter, vitamins and herbal products you start or stop using. This medication may be troublesome for people with kidney disease, inform your doctor if you have renal issues. If you are 75 years old or older exercise caution when using this medication. This medication may cause dizziness and drowsiness. Do not drive or operate machinery. It is unknown if Vastarel can harm an unborn child, thus consult with your doctor, if you are or become pregnant. Consult your physician before breast feeding as it is unknown if Trimetazidine can pass into breast milk.
