Keppra (Generic name: Levetiracetam) is an approved medication used to treat types of seizures including partial seizures (in adults and children age 4 and older), myoclonic seizures (in adults and adolescents age 12 and older), and generalized tonic clonic seizures (adults and children age 6 and older). Keppra is approved for use in combination with other seizure medications; it is NOT approved to be used alone. Levetiracetam works by affecting the transmission of nerve signals in the brain.
