Prevacid SoluTab (Generic name: Lansoprazole, also known as Zoton Fastabs) is a proton pump inhibitor used to treat or prevent certain types of ulcers. It can also be used for the treatment of symptoms associated with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), esophagus irritation or conditions that cause the body to make too much stomach acid. Your doctor may also prescribe Prevacid Solutab for other conditions. Prevacid SoluTab works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach.
Prevacid SoluTab side effects include constipation, diarrhea, headache, nausea, or stomach pain. See your doctor as soon as possible if you experience any of these severe side effects: severe allergic reactions, bone pain, chest pain, irregular heartbeat, red, swollen, blistered or peeling skin, or unusual bruising or bleeding. These may not be all side effects associated with Prevacid SoluTab. Talk to your doctor about side effects or potential drug interactions before taking Prevacid SoluTab.
Do NOT take Prevacid Solutab if you are allergic to any of the ingredients in the medication. Talk to your doctor about medication interactions. Prevacid Solutab can cause adverse reactions in patients who are taking diuretics, anticoagulants, azole antifungals or other medications that may not be listed here. If you miss a dose, take Prevacid SoluTab as soon as you remember. However, if it is close to the time of your next dose, just take the regularly scheduled dose. Do not take 2 doses at once. Talk to your doctor before using Prevacid SoluTab if you have any of these conditions: low blood potassium or magnesium levels, stomach or bowel cancer, phenylketonuria, osteoporosis, family history of osteoporosis or have osteoporosis risk factors such as smoking or poor nutrition. Prevacid SoluTab should not be used in pregnant or lactating women. Sufficient studies have not been completed. Keep Prevacid SoluTab away from children.
