Zocor Information

Zocor (Simvastatin) is used to lower levels of bad cholesterol (LDL) and fats in the body while increasing the levels of good cholesterol (HDL). Low-density lipoprotein (LDL) is a type of cholesterol that can build up in the arteries, forming plaque and potentially leading to heart disease and stroke. Improving cholesterol levels helps decrease the risk of these diseases. HMG-CoA Reductase Inhibitors or statins like Simvastatin work by lowering cholesterol levels in the blood.
