Lupron Depot (Generic name: Leuprolide Acetate for Depot Suspension) is a prescription medication used for the treatment of advanced prostate cancer in men. Lupron Depot is also used to treat disorders of the uterus (e.g., endometriosis, fibroids) in women. Leuprolide Acetate is a long acting GnRH analog. It works by decreasing the production of testosterone in men and estrogen in women to stop growth of the diseased cells involved in prostate cancer and endometriosis. Lupron Depot Side Effects
The most common Lupron Depot side effects are acne, breast tenderness, constipation, dizziness, headache, hot flashes, impotence, injection site reactions, light vaginal bleeding, nausea, and sweats.
